So, updates!  I finished Cherry Blossom for my RR.  I think she's so cute.

I've made a bit of progress on Buttercup. She's coming along nicely.

Admittedly, not my best pic since I used my phone.  And you can see my new mermaid Needle minder...  love her.

A Little Update and a Future Projection.

Hello Everyone!  I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend.  School starts on Tuesday for us so life is a frenzy right now!  But, I have been busy stitching and crafting a little bit too!

First, here is a current pic of my Enchanted Mermaid taken at a minor league baseball game this afternoon.  I had my own personal Stitch and Pitch :)

So far, I LOVE how the colors are working on the fabric!  I named the fabric Mermaid's Seas.  Thank you to Cassie for helping with the name!

Here is a pic of how she will hopefully look when she's done.  I used PC Stitch to work her conversion out and while it took forever to enter the chart, I like that I can manipulate the pattern so easily.  Unfortunately, PC Stitch does not support Caron Waterlilies, Rainbow Gallery Threads, or Delicas so I had to get as close as I could with DMC, Kreinik and Mill Hill.  But I still think it is a pretty good idea of how she'll look.

My husband has named her Buttercup.  He says her crown makes her look a lot like Buttercup from the movie The Princess Bride and I have to agree.

Another thing I did this week was a new fob for my new scissors.  They are cotton candy scissors with a plastic sheath and they are my third pair of these little scissors.  Of course, I've lost the sheathes for the first two pairs so I designed a little fob that would connect the sheath to the scissors.

I am looking for a wholesale supplier for the scissors so I can sell them together.

Small reminder:  My contest to name my individual dyed fabrics ends tomorrow evening.  I will pick my top three and the winner will receive an eighth of Mermaid's Seas on 32 Lugana and the two runners up will also get a small prize.  You can enter by commenting on the post in my Facebook group for Under The Sea Fabrics.

Thanks for reading and looking!  TTFN!

Whirlwind!

Hello Everyone!  It has been a busy couple of weeks for this girl!  Last weekend I took a finishing class with the lovely Jane Timmers and this weekend we had a massive Cinco de Mayo party.  I've gotten a little stitching done, but not too much.  I started my Merchant Mermaid a few days after I finished Mermaid of the Pearls.  So far, I've only stitched about 1/3 of the anchor motif at the bottom.

I'm changing the "MH" in the anchor to "SS".  The "SS" stands for "Siren's Song" which is what is replacing the "Mill Hill" at the top.  Amanda has helped me by recharting the words to say "Siren's Song Pub and Inn".  I wanted her to look like an old British tavern sign.  She's being stitched on 28 ct. Ale linen by Picture This Plus.

The reason I've only done a little bit of Merchant Mermaid is because Part 5 of Deep Blue Sea has come out and it's a doozy!  It includes a large section at the top.  I'm working on seaweed and border tonight.

I apologize for the pictures.  I managed to screw up the settings on my camera and I'm still trying to figure out how to get them back to normal!  Also, I want to announce Karen as the winner of my giveaway!  I'll be emailing you soon!  I have some dental work this week and a wedding to attend next week so I will probably not post for a couple of weeks.  Hoping by then to have most if not all of Part 5 to show you!  TTFN!

A Giveaway! And an Off-Topic UFO

Hello Everyone!  I've officially reached 25 followers!  Thank you so much for accompanying me on my journey.  I've pulled three silks from my stash to send to three lucky winners.  Comment on this post with the color you like and in three days I'll print the comments and separate them by color preference.  Then I'll pull one at random from each pile.

The gray is a Carries Creations called Smoke.  The pink is from Hand Dyed Fibers and it is called Harvest Moon.  The blue and white is a one of a kind from Dinky Dyes.  Once I reach 50 followers, I'll dye a piece of fabric for one lucky winner!

I pulled out Nora Corbett's Rose Pixie Coutoure out of my UFO bag last night.  I started her for my niece for Christmas but got so frustrated with her that I put her away and started Shimmering Mermaid.  We won't celebrate Christmas with my husband's family until February so I have plenty of time to finish her.  I only have her head and wings left so hopefully she will only need a week or two of work.

After I pulled her out and started working on her, I remembered why I had put her away in the first place.  First, I cut my finger while I was working on her and she had a little blood stain next to her shoe.  Thanks to my friend, Jo, I was able to use hydrogen peroxide to gently remove the stain.  Second, this is a VERY tightly woven fabric.  It is Picture This Plus' Crystal Zephyr Jobelan and it is a chore just to pull a size 28 needle through it.  I'm actually dreading using the Kreinik in her wings.  But I'm going to get her done so I can get back to work on Persephone.  Thanks for reading and don't forget to comment with the color silk you'd like to try for!
